“Then the time came when the risk it took to remain tied in a bud was more painful then the risk it took to blossom.” -Captivating-
“There is something fierce in the heart of a woman. Simply insult her children, her man or her best friend and you’ll get a taste of it.” -Captivating-
Oh gosh, the dreaded ‘About Me’ page. To start, my friends and family call me Andi. Well, unless they met me during a time when I demanded to be called by my full name, Andrea. In fact, my name actually means womanly and/or lady. (Uh-huh, see the connection here?) I am a wife to a steadfast and committed man, Jared, whose corny humor is without end. I am a mom to a sweet angel-baby girl, Dylan. She has changed me forever as a person. I am a follower of Christ; a relationship that promises love and hope. In addition to my three favorite roles, I am also a daughter and I am a sister. I was raised in a simple family of four where we ate dinner together at least 5 nights a week. I look back at my childhood with great pride and thanks. My dad was involved in every aspect of my upbringing, I talk to my mom every day and my sister can’t talk as fast as she thinks. I am other things, nouns, adjectives and verbs too. But like all the women in my life it would take a few hundred pages to really explain all ‘about me’.
I will give you some logistics…we live in a beautiful suburb of Atlanta, GA where my husband manages a large health club and where we attend a mega-church. I completed college earning a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Criminology. (My strange obsession with criminal activity continues, but I digress.) I have been blessed to have the best job I could hope for as a stay-at-home mom after leaving the second-best job I ever had as a hairstylist. I worked in the salon/spa industry for over 12 years. I grew up in a quaint town outside Orlando, FL until I was 13 years old when my parents moved us up here.
My intentions for this personal blog are simple. I have a lot on my mind and a lot to share. I’m addicted to offering advice. Mostly, my family wants to keep up with Dylan. Of course being a woman, I identify with the many roles, dynamics, pressures and joys of being one. I want to talk about everything: experiences, lessons, recipes, Bible verses, books, crafts, what moves us and of course the men we chose to lead our families. I invite anyone who has a personal story to share to join me as a guest writer. We have so much to learn from one another.
Thanks for stopping by. God bless you and yours.
-Andi

What church do you attend in GA? If it’s First Baptist Atlanta, I listen to Dr Stanley often and he is excellent.
Hello! Dr. Charles has a son named Andy Stanley and we attend his church. It is called North Point Community Church. You can see a live or a past sermon/messages here: North Point is much more relaxed and current that Dr. Charles Stanley….so it depends on your preferred practices. Thanks for checking in!
