Oh Andi, this had me rolling! LOL! I, too, thought I’d always have the “put-together” kid. God had different plans for me apparently . I’ve learned to just roll with it, and laugh A LOT – when what I really wanted to do was cry. Thanks for sharing this, it reminds me of how “normal” my life with a little messy one is xo

Well said, and I believe what you say is what you mean. Your openness and courage to share your feelings and beliefs is refreshing.

I am reading a wonderful book, “One Thousand Gifts” that supports your beliefs as well and is blessing my life. (I highly recommend it.).

When I married your Uncle John, I told folks that one of the main reasons I fell for him was because he was so “content in his own skin.” I was drawn most to his “heart for God.”

So sorry about all the pain; however we are so thankful that you’re beyond that now. Let us know how you are progressing. We’re praying for you, constantly. Please tell your sweet Mom hello for us. Rene, you and Clark are a great example of being very happy while being content. It’s part of the reason people are drawn to you guys….because you are both humble and easy to around (due to being comfortable with yourselves.) Thanks for reading and commenting!

Clark and I have experienced being questioned about our “contentment” – not sucking out the equity of our home in a re-finance, not purchasing things on credit, not being caught up in the “need” for high-end or name brand merchandise, being happy staying in the same home for 30+ years. One of the reasons I fell so quickly in love with Clark was his “contentment” with who he was, what he had and how hard he worked. Too many men I dated were in that whirlwind of trying to “be somebody” through the purchase of expensive cars, what they did, where they hung out and the clothes they wore – nothing real. People who are lucky enough to grasp true “contentment” are very, very fortunate.
